He was predeceased by: his mother Margaret Marie Hyde; his stepfather James "Jimmy" R. Hyde; and his brother Kenneth "Biff" Merrill. He is survived by: his wife Janice Bianchi; his daughter Jennifer Merrill; his siblings, Thomas "Butch" Merrill and Becky Morgan (Dan); his stepdaughter Glenda Perkins (Steve); his friends, Buddy Ray, Charlie Hankins and Steve Holliday; and also Patrick Darin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
