He was predeceased by: his parents, Aaron Pewitt and Mary Pewitt (Roberts); his son Vernon Scott "Scottie" Pewitt; and his siblings, William Howard, Eddie J., James Horace, John Thomas Pewitt, Cora Lucille Pewitt and Mary Elizabeth Jones (Pewitt).
He is survived by: his children, Felicia Mason (John), Lucas Pewitt and Adam Pewitt (Cassie); his siblings, Paul Cleveland Pewitt (Sheila), Diane Parham (James) and Ruby Lee Toombs; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia and Ellie.
