He was predeceased by: his parents, Larson Eldrige Shelton and Ethel Lavona Fellers Shelton; his son Richard Arnett; and his siblings, Linda Townsend, Brenda Hubbard and William "Bud" Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Jane Shelton; his children, Michelle Shelton, Rebecca Bagwell (Joseph), Wanda Coopwood (Coop), Kevin Shelton (Renea), Daniel Arnett and Joseph Arnett; and his brother Steve Shelton (Betty). He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
