He was predeceased by : his parents, Henry Dozier and Sadie Dozier; and his siblings, Buck Dozier, Annabell Shearon, Elsie Bradley, Betty McGleandeon and Lucille Hurd.

He is survived by : his wife Alene Dozier; and his daughters, Shelia Wilkins (CJ), Sherry and Lisa Mitchell (Johnnie). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
