He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Saffles and Gonia Johnson Saffles; his wife Dianne Younce Saffles; and his sisters, Lena Merritt and Catie Sue Campbell.

He is survived by : his grandchildren, Travis Jack (Christina Hastings) of Athens, Tyler Jack (Angel) of Athens, Austin Jack (Taryn McGill) of Athens, Chris White of Athens and Jose Carballosa (Sophia Olivera) of Riceville; his great grandchildren, Kaylee Jack, Makayla Jack, Jacob Jack, Waylon Jack, Sophia Jack, Destiny Hastings and Phoebe Hastings; his great great grandchild Brynlee; and his sisters, Jane Dunn of Athens and Lori Maxwell of Madisonville Along. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
