He is survived by : his brother Ronnie Forsythe; and his daughters, Lisa Odom (Sherman) and Wendy Hunter (John). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens (3700 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 29th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Faith Baptist Church (3755 N Germantown Pkwy, Bartlett, TN 38133).

In remembrance of Jimmie's life of service and his heart full of compassion, the family graciously suggests that donations be offered in his blessed memory to Donate Life America, Wounded Warrior Project, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
