William Poister Obituary
We are sad to announce that on December 1, 2025, at the age of 86, William Poister (Blountville, Tennessee) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence G. Staup and Paul A. Poister; his wife Evelyn Kunze; and his siblings, Donald Stearns, Carolyn Lewis and Pauline James.
He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Riggs (Joe), Cindy Huddle (Wendell), Angie Bass (Craig) and Diana Landers (Jerry); and his grandchildren, Curtis Huddle, Amber Martin, Darren Riggs, Ben Riggs, Courtney Jackson, Rachel Millhorn, Lexi Landers and Joshua Landers. He is also survived by seventeen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Hamlett Dobson Funeral Home and Memorial Park (2630 TN-75, Blountville, TN 37617). A memorial service was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214 or to any local animal shelter.
