He was loved and cherished by many people including : his wife Debbie Brown Mitchell; his children, Natasha Jonas (Jud), Nathan Harkleroad (Stephanie) and Chad Maiden (Christina); and his siblings, Diane Cross (Allen), Pam Russell (Joe) and Tony Mitchell (Debbie).

Due to COVID-19, a private graveside will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Abingdon, VA. with Brother Brad White officiating.
