He was predeceased by : his grandparents, Albert and Beatrice McDonald; and his parents, Paul McDonald and Brenda Powers. He is survived by : his wife Shelly McDonald; his children, Megan Birchfield (Scotty), Mallory Parker (Jamie) and Dominic McDonald (Alexa); his grandsons, Austin McDonald, Luke Montgomery, Caleb McDonald, Brady McDonald, Dylan McDonald and Gavin Parker; his stepgrandchildren, Wyatt and Ella; his siblings, Julie and Steve McDonald; and his pet Levi McDonald.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, which meant a lot to Paul.
