He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Ann O'Hara; his son Jack Helvering (Charlene) of Henderson; his stepchildren, Johnny Ray O'Hara of Bolivar, Candice Marie Spence of Tampa, FL and Michael O'Hara of Buffalo, NY; his grandchildren, Christopher "Dusty" Helvering, Shayna Page Helvering, Katelynn Helvering, Tyler Layne, Ashley Layne, Lacey Spence, Corey O'Hara, Sean O'Hara, Megan O'Hara and Clover O'Hara; his great grandchild Dallas Jiminez; and his siblings, William Helvering of Poplar Bluff, MO, Dave Helvering of Tull, AR, Robert Helvering of Omaha, NE, Patricia Ann Graham of Bradford, AR and Margaret Brinkey of Mt. Home, AR..
Visitation was held on Saturday, July 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Calendar Pinson Church of Christ (4078 US-45, Pinson, TN 38366). A burial was held on Sunday, July 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM at the Calendar Pisgah Cemetery (1990 N Pisgah Rd, Henderson, TN 38340).
Throughout his life, Jim made significant contributions to his community and was known for his dedication to helping others.
