He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Abel and Inez Abel; and his daughter Suzanne Cates. He is survived by: his wife Dora Ann Roden Abel of Braden, TN; his children, Janette Clemons (Gary) of Savannah, TN and Dale Ferrell (Diane) of Mason, TN; and his sister Anna Lisa Davenport (Johnny) of Braden, TN. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
