He was predeceased by : his parents, Riley Guss Pate and Bessie Louise Collins Pate; and his siblings, Mary Locke Guthrie and Charles Pate. He is survived by : his wife JoAnn Pate; his children, Melissa Dawn Pate (Nelfi Velasquez), Cassondra DeeAnn Pate (Brandy Payne) and Robert Pate Jr. (Megan); his grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Velasquez, Tiana Alyssa Velasquez, Dakota Angel Velasquez, Haley Michelle Payne and Carter Boruff; and his brother Jimmy Ray Pate. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
