He was predeceased by: his wife Janice Williams Owens; his son Gregg Owens; his parents, Robert J. and Elizabeth Owens; and his siblings, Frances Owens Dent and George Owens.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Aquadro Owens; his children, Bruce Owens (Betty), Kathy Shearin (Jerry) and Gwen McCary (Steve); his grandchildren, Stephen Owens (Morgan), Trevor Owens, Sarah Owens, Chris Howell, Laura Hodge (Alex), Stacey Pollom (Jesse), Caroline Champion (Tracy) and Jack Tatum; his great grandchildren, Stephen Owens, Emmett Owens, Joseph Owens and Dorothy Owens; his siblings, Lester Owens and Betty Sexton; and also, Beth Johnson (Paul), Mary Caraveo (Joe) and Martha Varney (John). He is also survived by children and grandchildren.
