He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Childress and Mildred Childress; and his brother Hugh D. Childress, Jr.. He is survived by: his sons, Mark Childress (Mary) and Eric Childress; his sister Yvonne Hawkins (Billy); his close friends, Hal Wagenblast and Bill Abney; and his friend Joe Stansifer. He is also survived by two grandchildren, and a host of friends.
