He was predeceased by : his parents, Orville Carver and Lelia Carver; and his siblings, Ruth Russell, Mary Bowlin, Mamie Freeman, Naomi Bowlin, Alma Price, Gene, Ralph and J. D. Carver.

He is survived by : his children, Sheryl Edwards (Tim), Glenda Flick (Lyn), Bobby "Butch" G. Carver, Jr. and Ronald Carver; and his grandchildren, Chastity Chadwick, James R. Walters, Anna Carver and Madie-Grace Carver. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren.
