He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ward and Betty Simpson Ward. He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Goad Ward; his daughters, Tammy Ward "Stuffle" and Charlene Ward; his sister Minnie Staples; his grandson Justin Ward (Amanda); and his great grandchildren, Hank and Waylon. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
