He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Gilliam, Sr. and Geroldine Thacker Gilliam; his sons, Harry E. Gilliam and Vernon D. Gilliam, Jr.; his grandson Daniel Reed; and his siblings, Barbara A. Gilliam Maples, Margaret Gilliam Felton, George F. Gilliam, Jr., Leon R. Gilliam and Howard Gilliam, Sr. (Flora).
He is survived by: his wife Margaret A. Gilliam; his children, Susan Gilliam Porter (Aracio) of Nashville, TN, Veronica Marable Johnson of Nashville, TN and Terry Marable of Madison, TN; and his siblings, Shirley M. Gilliam Thomas and Henry Gilliam (Mary Ann) of Springfield, TN. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Little Rock Baptist Church (490 W Spring St, Erin, TN 37061). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
