He was predeceased by: his parents, Bessie Crotzer and Lewis Gilmer Gupton; his daughter Paula Gwen Gupton; his sisters, Dorothy Gupton Swaffer (Herbert) and Betty Jean Seifert; his siblings-in-law, Gordon Grissom and Pricilla Gupton; his daughter Teri; and his son-in-law David Uhler.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Guess; his son Wade Robert Gupton (Nancy); his grandsons, William Ellis Gupton and Robert Brooks Gupton of Waco, TX; his siblings, Catherine Gupton Grissom, Lewis Gilmer Gupton, Jr., June Gupton Mastracci (Larry), Shari Newell (Stan) and Christopher Newell (Autumn); his siblings' children, Annabelle and Allianne; his siblings, Chandra Sullivan (Will) and Ric Uhler (Erika); and his nephew Kenny. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
