He was predeceased by : his parents, Lee McClure and Daisy Ailey McClure; his son Joe Max McClure Jr.; and his brother William McClure. He is survived by : his wife Freida Jones McClure; his son Mitchell L. McClure (Sherri) of Cleveland; his grandchildren, Rananah Christian, Joshua, Jonathan, Zachary McClure and Sara Hartman; and his great grandchildren, Kayla, Abigail, C. J. Chastain and Gabrial McClure.

In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials sent to South Cleveland Church of God Prime Timers.
