She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Massengill and Margaret Massengill; her husband Herbert Burgess; and her sons, Larry Andrew, Paul Clayton and Jesse Clyde Burgess.
She is survived by: her children, Patsy Redd (Anthony), Peggy Borden, Phyllis Ownby, Lucille Wooten (Benny), Doris Handy and John Burgess; her half-sister Linda Creel; and her siblings, Beverly Whiteside, Brenda Lambert, Ronnie, Charles, Chuckie and Stevie Massengill. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
