Jean Smith Lawson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean Smith Lawson of Clinton, Tennessee, born in Harlan, Kentucky, who passed away on December 31, 2020, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, John Cleve Smith and Leitha Cleveland Smith; her husband Bill Gene Lawson; her sisters, Wanda Hughes and Polly McDonald; her son Rick L. Lawson; her brother Charles Smith; and her granddaughter Kristan Howerton.

She is survived by: her children, Gail Jones (Richard) of Clinton and Danny Lawson (Bozena) of Casselberry, FL; her sister Betty Jo Flick of Clinton; and her grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Lauren Woods, Stephanie Minshew and Maria Lawson. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, close friends and family will meet for a graveside service on Thursday, January 7, 2020 at 1:30pm at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 200 N. Alabama Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
