He is survived by: his significant other Ashley Thephasone; his parents, Tom and Beth; and his siblings, Michael, Laura (Alden) and Daniel.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to one of the following charities that Matthew had been connected to: Asha's Refuge (http://www.ashasrefuge.org): a refugee ministry in Memphis Rio Brave Ministries (https://www.rio-bravo.org): a children's home in Reynosa, Mexico that Matthew made many service trips to.
