He was predeceased by: his sister Doris Marie Leidner (Paul); and his niece Kathleen Strese (Walter). He is survived by: his wife Gladys Imogene Caulk Nelson of Columbia; his daughters, Dawn C. Nelson of Columbia and Barbara C. Shannon (Brian) of Columbia; his grandsons, Justin S. Chappell (Michelle) of Seminary and Nathan L. Shannon (Allie Kreisel) of Columbia; his great grandchildren, Maddy Chappell, Natalee Shannon and Austin Chappell; and his sibling's children, Paul Leidner (Gerry) of Burnsville, Minnesota and Kathryn Hoeppner (Jim) of Lakeville.
