He is survived by: his daughter Caroline Dale Simpson (Christopher) of Bethesda, MD; his grandsons, Tyler Dale Simpson and James Dale Simpson of Bethesda, MD; his siblings, Lillias Johnston (William) of Nashville, TN, Rev. James "Jamie" Dale (Anne) of Black Mountain, NC, Dr. Andrew "Mac" Dale of Winston-Salem, NC and Frank Dale (Gloria) of Columbia, TN; his siblings-in-law, Susan Chadick and Gerald Miller (Jerry) of Arlington, VA; and his close friend Raydena Hoppe. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
