It is with great sadness that we announce the death of William Burton Young in Cookeville, Tennessee, born in Jackson, Tennessee, who passed away on April 10, 2024, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred William Young and Bessie Mae Flatt Young; his former life partner Betty Birdwell Young; and his brothers, Ray and Bruce Young.

He is survived by : his wife Sheila Young of Gainesboro; his daughter Judy McDaniel (Jeff) of Gainesboro; his grandchildren, Faith Jacobson, Amy Orndoff and McDaniel; and his brothers, Roy Young (Essie) of Gainesboro, Jerry Young (Jo Ann) of Gainesboro and Sheldon Young (Lori) of Cookeville. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Center Grove Church of Christ (3857 S Grundy Quarles Hwy, Gainesboro, TN 38562). A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
