It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Howard Clayton Beckett Sr. in Covington, Tennessee, who passed away on February 25, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Beckett; his daughter Renee Maxwell; his parents, John L. Beckett and Mary Alice Hanks Beckett; and his siblings, Herman Beckett, Bertha Lee Jones, Nellie Overton, Louise Thompson, Willie B. Glenn, Evaughn Byars, Hazel Adams, Robert Beckett and Earl Beckett.
He is survived by: his children, Teresa Howard (Terry) of Covington and Clayton Beckett, Jr. of Covington; his sister Robbie Ervin (Dudley) of Millington; and his grandchildren, Jason of Burlison, Nick Howard of Burlison, Hunter Beckett of Covington and Chelsea Maxwell of Covington.
The family asks that any memorials be made to Covington Assembly of God Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
