He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Chapman Gatlin; and his parents, Thurston Alvin and Anna Mai McDow Gatlin. He is survived by: his sons, Billy Joe Gatlin of Covington and Jeffrey Alan Gatlin (Meredith) of Jackson; his brother Dan Gatlin (Sheila) of Brighton; his granddaughter Haley Kent; his stepgrandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Brayden Lira; and his siblings-in-law, Lessie Fisher (Chris) of Covington and Danny Chapman (Judy) of Covington. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
