He was predeceased by: his son Danny Pruitt; his parents, Charlie Pruitt and Aurelia Gray Pruitt; and his siblings, C. J. Pruitt, William Pruitt, Inez Byrd, Carolyn Pruitt, Barbara Jean Cook, Almeter Jackson and Jewell Christine Phelps.
He is survived by: his wife Ann Smith Pruitt; his son Darryl Pruitt; his grandsons, Jeffrey Pruitt, Jason Pruitt and Chris Pruitt; and his siblings, Leroy Pruitt, Lawrence Pruitt, Nellie Fleming and Sue Gardner. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
