He was predeceased by: his parents, Farris D. Rice and Lina Mai Leach Rice; and his sister Ann Rice Irby. He is survived by: his wife Joyce Vineyard Rice; his children, Julie Beth Rice of Covington, Lisa R. Dickinson (Rick) of Franklin, TN and William "Hal" Rice, Jr. of Covington; his brother Neil Rice (Helen) of Jacksonville, FL; his brother-in-law Bill Irby of Germantown; his grandchildren, Kelly Collins (Josh), Ashley Johnson (Neil), Ryne Dickinson and Eli Dickinson; and his great grandchildren, Drew, Kenzie Collins, Abbie and Sam Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked for memorials to be sent to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
