He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Orville and Maude Esther Hughes Sr. (Garner); his wife Ruby Hughes; his son Teddy Lynn Hughes; his granddaughter Valley Paige Hughes; his stepdaughter Jean Campbell; and his siblings, Kenneth Hughes, Roy Hughes, Charles Hughes, Teresa Holt, Nancy Gilliam and Evelyn King.
He is survived by: his daughter Donna Goodman (Michael Hughes); his granddaughters, Kara Crews, Katie Lewis and Pamela Goodman; his great grandchildren, Kacie Marie Goodman, Kylie Jo Goodman, Jadelynn Dean Lewis and Tristan Gregory Johnson; his stepdaughter Iva Evenson; his stepgranddaughters, Donna Lynn Nunley, Tammy Green, Kimberly Garrett and Jennifer Painter; and his brother Thomas Henry Hughes (Jimbo). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home (300 1st Ave NW, Winchester, TN 37398). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
