He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyd, Sr. and Mary Louise Boyd; and his son Paul Boyd. He is survived by: his wife Brenda Boyd of Cumberland Furnace, TN; his sons, David Boyd (Sandy) of Nashville, TN, Mark Boyd (Bernie) of Nashville, TN and Phillip Boyd (Diane) of Nunnelly, TN; his stepsons, Mike Murphy (Darla) of Cumberland Furnace, TN and Jeff Murphy (Pam) of Charlotte, TN.; and his siblings, Susie Ellis of Hendersonville, TN, Anita Ballard of Nashville, TN, Addie Lebus of Upland, CA, Lorene Rowe (Larry), Mac McDerman, James Boyd, Jr., Sadie Beasley, Dorothy Holovach and Becky Bobbitt. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Spann Funeral Home (1961 Hwy 48 N, Dickson, TN 37055). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 3rd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
