He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Jessie Swain and Lottie Macie Wilson Swain; his brothers, Clifton Swain and Cecil Swain; his stepdaughter Belinda F. Wise; and his granddaughter Hope Morgan Rice.
He is survived by: his wife Rosa Lee Swain of Dayton, TN; his children, Susan Land (Jimmy) of Gray, GA, Mikayla Wise (Jonathan) of Dayton, TN and Gerald Swain Jr. of Scottsboro, ALA; his stepsons, Mike Brantley (Pam) of Byron, GA and Jerry Brantley (Linda) of Graysville, TN; and his sisters, Annette Hobbs (Wendell) of Tifton, GA and Faye Glover of Tifton, GA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
