She was predeceased by : her husband Steve Payne; her parents, Bertha Parker Bullington and Author J. Bullington; her stepmother Maggie Mooneyham Bullington; and her siblings, Hannah Bulington Miller, Ralph, Herman and Walter Bullington.

She is survived by : her sons, Richard Payne and Roger Payne (Jean); her granddaughter Carolyn Messer; and her caregivers, Verdie Sane and Peggy Wilburn. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; also other family and friends.
