He was predeceased by: his wife Anita McCandless; his daughter Wanda Sue Brennan; his parents, Russell McCandless and Hattie McCandless; and his siblings, Mildred, Freida, June, Marguerite and Clint.

He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Kowalczyk (Bob). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
