She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, James Sidney Sherrill and Birdie Cook Sherrill; her siblings, James Sidney Sherrill Jr., Annie Laurie Harris and Harriet L. Tant; her husband A. Clark Dickson Jr.; her sons, Daniel Clark Dickson and Al Clark Dickson; and her grandchildren, Danielle Dickson Rothman, Courtney Dickson Rommel, Adam Dickson and Megan Dickson Eskind. She was also cherished by six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
