He was predeceased by : his parents, George Alton Heflin and Viola Pearl Wallace Heflin; his brother Dotson; his sister-in-law LaRue Heflin; his sister Linda; his brother-in-law Phil Horsey; and his stepgrandson Roger Milton, Jr..

He is survived by : his wife Patricia Marshall Heflin; his daughters, Sheila Milton (Roger) and Tonya Fitzhugh (Don); his siblings, Bruce Heflin (Barbara) and Brenda Atkins (Kenneth); his grandchildren, Garett Wall (Becky), Travis Wall (Jill), Trish Wright and Abby Eaker (Spenser); his great grandchildren, Emma, Lily, Judson, Isaac, Mollie, Eli, Oliver and Noah; and his stepgranddaughter Jennifer White.
