She was predeceased by : her husband James Lewis Hicks; her parents, Alvin Mayes and Pearl Mayes; and her siblings, Jo Vandergriff, Thelma Lewis and Thomas Mayes.

She is survived by : her children, Tina Hicks, Tim (Amy) of Signal Mountain and Brad Hicks (Shannon) of Signal Mountain. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
