With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Rutledge Cooper (Dyersburg, Tennessee), who passed away on May 4, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her husband James Cooper; her children, James Jr. "Jimmy" Cooper (Kathy) and Cheryl Bennett (Jeff); her brother Darrell Rutledge; her grandchildren, Edie Catherine Simmons (Bob), Jenny Seratt (Jerry), Emily Bennett Sain (Jay) and Kyle Bennett; her great grandchildren, Ava Seratt, Cooper Seratt, Ella Kate Simmons, Jaycie Sain and Jay Jr. Sain; her nieces and nephews, Mike Rutledge (Dyanna), Phoebe Rutledge Smith (Steve), Stephen Rutledge (Rosario) and AshLee Rutledge Dornak (Eric); and her caregiver Linda Mitchell.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Dyersburg Funeral Home (420 US-51, Dyersburg, TN 38024). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Dyersburg Funeral Home Chapel (420 US-51, Dyersburg, TN 38024).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Dyersburg State Community College.
