He was predeceased by: his parents, Addie Jane and Norman Burks; and his wife Judy Hall Burks. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Escue (Billy) of Dyersburg and Taylor Burks (Emily) of Nashville; his grandsons, Stephen Escue (Hailey Clendenin) and Cody Escue (Taylor); and his siblings, Norma Jane Skoglund (Roy) of Eugene, Oregon, Norman "Bucky" Burks (Patricia) of Dyersburg and Bill Burks (Elva) of Clarksville, TN..
