He was predeceased by : his parents, James Dotson and Sally Head Dotson; and his sisters, Imogene Dotson and JoAnne Harber. He is survived by : his wife Vanice Dotson; his children, Angela Davenport (Chris) of Dyersburg, Donald Dotson (Tammy) of Dyersburg, Lynn Dotson of Dyersburg and Cody Dotson (Mandi) of Dyersburg; his grandchildren, Matthew Dotson, Malorie Adcock, Taylor Davenport, Abby Davenport, Brianna Boxx, Tristen Boxx, Anzleigh Dotson and Annistyn Dotson; and his siblings, Christine Barr of Paris, Pauline Morgan of Mansfield and Johnny Dotson. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
