He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew Jackson Hood and Margaret Wright Hood; and his siblings, Leon Hood, Andy Hood, June Taylor and Anna Sue Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Jobelle Shipley Hood; his daughters, Robyn Hood Fuller of Johnson City, Julie Hood Eisenhart (Jamie) of Nashville and Rebecca Hood Tucker (Ron) of Beaufort, SC; his grandchildren, Emmie Ramirez (Cris), Madison Zanelotti (Kyle), Jeffrey Berry, Elsa Eisenhart and Ava Eisenhart; his great grandchildren, Amora Ramirez and Kaia Ramirez; and his sister Kay Humphries of Lyman, SC. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church - Elizabethton (325 East E Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, December 15th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 9:15 AM at the Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton At (211 N Riverside Dr, Elizabethton, TN 37643). An entombment will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Happy Valley Memorial Park (2708 Elizabethton Hwy, Johnson City, TN 37601).
