He was predeceased by : his former life partner Jeanette Phillips; his parents, Maggie Sue Phillips (Gibbs) and Walter Phillips; and his brothers, Ned Phillips and Jack Phillips.

He is survived by : his wife Jo Phillips (Moore); his children, Mike Phillips (Carol), Harley Phillips and Brent Phillips; and his stepchildren, Pam Prince (Dee) and Steve Moore. He is also survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, six step grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren.
