He was predeceased by : his parents, Eddie Thomas and Helen Gertrude Gooch McCanless; his wife Dorothy Inman McCanless; and his brother Bill McClanless. He is survived by : his children, James Scott Dycus (Denise), Edith "Edie" McGee (Bennie), Mary Mount (Jeff) and Amy Joe Wolff (Jimmy); and his brothers, Doug McCanless of Bell Buckle, TN, Don McCanless of Friendship, TN, Robert McCanless of Friendship, TN and Gordon McClaness of Friendship, TN. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
