It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Carter of Gadsden, Tennessee, who passed away on September 2, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jodie Turner Sr. and Gladys Jenkins Turner; and her siblings, Bessie Vann, Bertha Hendrix, Georgia Turner, Justine Cole, Bettye Martin, John Turner, Joe Turner, Roy Turner, Jodie Turner Jr. and Willie Turner.
She is survived by: her husband Ricky Carter of Gadsden, TN; and her siblings, Bobbie Neal Turner (Pearl) of Lansing, Terry Lee Turner of Muncie, Indiana and Zira Turner of Gadsden, TN. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Private immediate family services, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, for Ms. Velma Carter will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at St. John #1 Church Cemetery in Jackson, TN.
