He was predeceased by: his parents, John Baxter and Nina Sams; and his brother Ray Sams. He is survived by: his wife Ozella Sams; his son Floyd M. (Mike); his daughter-in-law B. J. Sams of Greeneville; and his sister Shelby Gosnell. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
