He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Mays and Peggy Mays. He is survived by: his wife Penni Mays; his children, Pamela Mays (Kyle Hensley), Jessica (Aaron Thomas), Tyler Hollar and Allen (June Price); his grandchildren, Ashley, Ryan Roberts, Landon, Peyton Thomas and Lila Hollar; and his brothers, Phil (Nancy Mays) and Charlie (Cheri Mays). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
