It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gene Shuxteau of Hendersonville, Tennessee, who passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his grandchildren, Justin and Avril S. Traylor; his friends, Paul and Jackie Decker; his wife Jan Waggoner Shuxteau; his children, Justin (Kiki) of Brentwood and Avril (Matt) of Hendersonville; his grandchildren, Carissa Shuxteau, Mason and Bradon Traylor of Hendersonville; his sisters, Dar Vooz (Joel) of Oley and Lisa Sabia (Chris) of Franklin, Tenn.; his siblings' children, C. J. Sabia, Lisa Glover of Westminister, SC, Laura Lee, Malvern, Leslie Nguyen and Frostburg; his brother-in-law Benny Waggoner (Denise) of Fairfield, Iowa; his brother Mark Shuxteau of Hamburg; and also, Ben and Lynn Waggoner. He is also survived by father he set for his family.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville (106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd, Hendersonville, TN 37075). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at 3:00 PM.
