He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Curtis Welch and Lois Duvall Muesing; his wife Dorothy Jean Welch; his grandson Jason Morgan; and his siblings, Gaines Welch, Sam Welch, Sheila Brimm, Jim Welch and Grady Welch.
He is survived by: his children, Jeanie Morgan (Gerald) and Jeff Welch (Regina); his grandchildren, Kristen Morgan, Daniel Morgan, Jonathan Rector and Sarah Henley; his great grandchildren, Asher Morgan, Mila Morgan, Anderson Hockaday, Jude Hockaday and Ryan Rector; and his siblings, Ernie Welch and Virginia Hendrix.
