He was predeceased by : his parents, John Wesley Riadon, Jr. and Polly Turner Foster; his son Jeff Riadon; his stepfather James M. Foster; and his siblings, Sarah Massey and Jimmy Foster.

He is survived by : his wife Beverly Riadon; his daughters, Yvette Riadon (Chuck Jackson) and Julie Poole (Tony); his grandchildren, Nicole Deline (Harley), Courtney Cook (Bo), Bethany Spore, Chris Spore, Alex Spore, Chaz Poole (Brittany) and Chelsey Brown (Matthew); and his sister Shirley Wise. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.

John loved Hendersonville and worked hard to make it a wonderful place to live; he even donated the land for the current site of Hendersonville High School.
