He was predeceased by : his parents, Leo Hammond and Ruby Hammond. He is survived by : his wife Sandra Davis Hammond; his sons, Jeffrey Hammond (Brittany) of Lebanon, TN and Wade Hammond of Hendersonville, TN; his granddaughter Hensley Hammond; his sister Debbie Smiley of Wichita Falls, TX; his brother-in-law Tommy Davis of Lawrenceburg, TN; and his nephew Dusty Duncan of Wichita Falls, TX..

A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 21st 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Middle-Tn State Veterans Cemetery (7931 McCrory Ln, Nashville, TN 37221).
